Four Generations North Dakota Farm Family – Photographer Kris Kandel

It’s always a special moment when childhood friends contact you to come to their grandparent’s farm to photograph the extended family! I haven’t seen some of these faces in years, but it was like no time had passed at all. Easy laughter, catching each other up on how our families have grown and shifted, careers, kids, weddings, all the things!

Not only was this a special session because of old connections, but the fact that it was four generations on the North Dakota family farm! The gravel driveway under the gigantic tree that leads to a lifetime of memories visiting the grandparents created a backdrop to the images that adds another level of love to the family photos.

Great grandparents to kiddos!

How sweet are these two? I’m melting.

Another fun part of working on the family farm is being able to pull out toys that have entertained multiple generations!

It was so lovely seeing you all again, thank you for including me in these special family moments – and for the fresh tomatoes from the garden. I am the luckiest photographer!
