October skies

Driving early one morning last week I noticed the sun shining on the golden stubble in a field, and the dark October rain clouds coming up behind. The dramatic colors and textures were just too fun not to try to catch. Thankfully I wasn’t driving so I could snap a few. I really like the way this vertical one turned out … the grass in front blurred by speed ads a fun element. : )

And the horizontal shows the clouds off in all their dreary, chilly, October sky glory:

I do have a soft spot in my heart for the vast skies and wide horizons of North Dakota and norther Minnesota. So open and free!!
