Heather & Nick’s wedding day was quite the dramatic weather roller coaster! I arrived at the Oxbow Country Club about an hour before the storm was set to hit, so we got Heather dressed and ready for her first look!
Heather was sooooo nervous walking up to Nick, but as soon as he saw her those nerves melted away into smiles and laughter!
Just look at how they look at each other. So awesome!
One of my favorites:
The soon to be Mr. & Mrs Graves. : )
I really love a lot of the images my 2nd photographer (thanks sis!) got during this time!
Then we rounded up the wedding party, just as it started to sprinkle. I think we all did awesome to get these many wedding party photos done in about 15 minutes!!!
Then as the storm hit we ran inside for a few formal family photos. The wind was CRAZY! Heather likes to call it her wedding hurricane. 😉 After family photos the rain was still dripping but not bad so I went outside for some detail photos while everyone else had lunch.
I LOVE the next few shots I got, they really showed off the texture embedded into Nick’s ring. So cool.
Then the crazy weather decided to bring out the sunshine (YAY!) so we rounded up the wedding party again for another 15 minutes before they had to hide from guests arriving.
The girls enjoyed picking on Nick.
I think the cutest ring bearer award goes to this guy. Sooooo fun!!
As everyone hid from guests arriving I focused on the extra details that were set out for the wedding. The Oxbow Country Club staff was amazing, wiping down all the wet seats and setting up the sound system quickly!
I love the photos of the two moms sharing their excitement right before the wedding party walked down the aisle. 🙂
Sooo cute!
Here comes the bride!
Heather is a big dog lover (remember their engagement session which included their Grate Dane & Chihuahua?), so when the officiant tried to sneak into the vows, “And I will let Heather foster as many dogs as she wants…” this was the reaction:
Mr & Mrs!!!
(And I love the confetti poppers!)
A quick drive into Moorhead to the Marriott Hotel for the reception.
And a lovely first dance!
Let’s get this party started!
One of Heather’s special requests was to finish the evening with some sparkler shots. Those sparklers were tough to get lit with the wind, but with some patience, and two very awesome bridesmaids to run in circles we got some awesome shots!!
So, all in all, in spite of a hurricane of wind & rain the day turned out perfect. Â : )
Heather – I’ll be putting together your link to download all the images in the next few days, probably get it next Tuesday or so (busy weekend again!), so I hope you enjoy these teasers until then!
