Bluestem Winter Wedding in Fargo Moorhead | Kayla & Michael | Kris Kandel Photographer

I first met Kayla when she was a bridesmaid in Sasha & Nathan’s wedding, so when she and Michael chose me to be their wedding photographer I was extra excited! It’s always special to start off with a connection already established, plus the guest list has familiar faces so I get to reconnect with past clients as well!!

We started off the winter day at Salem Church where Kayla & Michael exchanged letters and did their first look in the sanctuary – recreating the walk down the aisle moment in private!

Then we headed to the Bluestem Center in Moorhead for portraits! Since it was a very windy day mid winter we did most of the photos inside. What a gorgeous place the Bluestem center is!

Kayla’s style was very classic Grace Kelly or Princess Diana elegance.

Then the wedding party joined us for photos!

We managed to find a corner down by the river that had a little bit of wind shelter, so we got a few outdoor photos to prove it really was a winter wedding! 🙂

Back at Salem I did some detail photos and soon it was time for the ceremony.

I love the emotions of the grandparents in the receiving line afterwards. So sweet!

Off to the Ramada Plaza which is getting a remodel and will be soon named the Delta Suites! Isn’t the gray background and carpet SOOO much better than beige walls with orange and red swirly carpets?! Yes, yes it is. Plus the sleek gray chairs are much more elegant too!

One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is toasts, all the laughter and joy!!
