Liz & Matt’s wedding day was out at the Fair Hills Resort on Pelican Lake in Minnesota. It’s a beautiful location with vibes of summer camp, little cabins tucked into the hills, a golf course, and obviously the lake!
A first look with mom and dad, always a sweet moment!
Then I headed over to the cabin to get the groom. The guys were already in party mode and ready to rock the day.

First look time!
There’s a cute bride connecting the cabins on one hill to the main lodge, so we had to use it for some photos!
The gardens provided a fun colorful backdrop too!
Stunning Liz! Your hair & Makeup were on point!
We were provided with a few golf carts to take across the main road to the woods along the golf course for photos with the wedding party. It was my first time driving a golf cart, so that was a fun thing to try. My assistant snapped this photo of the couple behind us as we drove the trail. 🙂
Pockets are ALWAYS a hit with bridesmaids!
After family photos I enjoyed having some time to play with the details, especially with all the resort touches!
Since the resort is on Pelican lake I had to use this pelican art piece I found on one of the boat houses (don’t worry I put it right back!)… but how fun is that to not only have a detail photo of the rings but a nod to their location as well!
The dining hall was all set up so I took photos of the tables and cake too.
Then it was ceremony time!
It was one of the shortest wedding ceremonies I’ve photographed, probably only 5 minutes to say the vows and exchange rings. So thankful for my 2nd photographer for moments like this!!
Then it was cocktail hour on the main lodge deck, including a stunning cheese board!
While most of the guests (and my 2nd photographer) stayed on land the wedding party, family and I hopped onto the pontoon barge for a quick spin around the lake.
Shots were flying around, hugs were given, lots of laughter and even some dancing.
While back on shore:
And the pontoon:
While the guests enjoyed their cheese and drinks I took a few more details of the resort.
After an hour we all headed to the main dinning room where the candles had been lit.
A grand sparkler exit was planned to move people from the dining room to the dance hall in the main lodge. I loved some of the funny expressions of guests starting up their sparklers with all the smoke and sparks, lol!
Here come the newlyweds!
A candy bar was unveiled at the dance hall, I gotta admit to sneaking a chocolate and one of the strawberry marshmallows. Mmmmm!
First dance time!
Dancing with dad:
And an open floor!
I hope you enjoyed these teaser photos from your wedding Liz & Matt! I’ll have your full wedding gallery ready for you early next week, so until then feel free to share this blog post with your friends and family!
