Its been a few years since I’ve had a wedding out at Rustic Oaks, so I was really excited to get out there again. It’s even more beautiful than the last time! They’ve done such a great job with the barn conversion and gardens. Grab a drink, get out the tissues, this is going to be a LONG and beautiful post.
Becka & Steve // 9.9.17
First look time!
They hydrangeas were the perfect background for Becka’s color theme!
And around the corner where we found just a hint of fall colors.
I loved the braid in her hair, so relaxed and fabulously styled for a windy day, including grandma’s pin for something borrowed!
The wedding party joined us out on the lawns.
Aren’t these colors fabulous?!!
I love this photo of the groomsmen joking around, such a fun candid moment that really gives off the vibe of the day.
I love prairies!! The textures of the grass, the movement from the wind, and the big open skies!
After family photos I was able to spend some time in the barn with all the fabulous details. I loved her leather shoes, so soft and vintage inspired!
I was really excited to hear that Becka & Steve used Gathered Boutique Rentals for their head table, chairs, goblets and other details. My grandmother owned an antique store and collected colored glasses just like this, so when I saw the pretty green goblets I got warm fuzzy feelings. I knew I had to include them in the ring details somehow.
I loved how the couple included a memorial table with details from their grandparents. How sweet is that?!
Ceremony time!
A few more details were added to the barn when the ceremony arch was taken down and added above the table, and the wine brought out, so I grabbed a few more details:
This lovely cake actually ended up on the floor when the table legs accidentally folded when bumped (thankfully not by me!!) and the whole thing landed in a heap. The couple was very kind about it and didn’t seem phased, and thankfully there were enough other treats for the guests. But I’m so glad I got a photo of it before the fall!!
We stepped outside for a few sunset photos, taking a breath and savoring the moment. Finally married!!
I love how my 2nd photographer and I got such different looks at the same time using different techniques. Gah. Both so pretty!!
And back to the barn for the dance!! Starting out with a kiddie dance to get the fidgets out.
First dance time. I’m in love with all the sting lights!
Father daughter and mother son dances. It was really sweet, the groom half way through his dance with mom invited his new mother in law to dance. Then the bride’s new father in law spontaneously started dancing with the bride. It was all unplanned and very special. Afterwards I saw the two moms standing together and one said to the other “I’m just SO happy!!”
Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your special day! I’ll be sending you the link to download all your images later this week. Until then feel free to share the blog post!!
