Trevor Dayley Photography Workshop | Kris Kandel Fargo Wedding + Senior Photographer

It’s been quite the year for me to invest in workshops and learning! In Feb. I went to the UNITED conference in Santa Barbara California; then a few weeks later I found out that one of my favorite wedding photographers (Trevor Dayley – go swoon over some of his photos and check out his FB page too!) was coming to Minneapolis for his 2 day intensive “Game-Changers” workshop, limited to only 12 photographers. So of course I couldn’t pass up that opportunity to learn from the best!! It ended up being really fun because about half of the photographers who signed up were also from Fargo, so it was not only learning from a great teacher but spending time with my local photographer friends as well. Doesn’t get much better than that!

The first day was dedicated to camera tips, off camera flash, posing, and hands on practice with our lovely models (thanks guys!):

Then with the sunset we practiced some night shots.

The second day was dedicated to post production: Lightroom and Photoshop techniques, marketing, business, how to balance life and working from home, and a TON of other info!! I feel like the second day was where I really got some great ideas into my head. So many computer shortcuts to save time! Which is going to be vital this summer with so many weddings in a row! 😀 And a lot of practical tips to make everything flow just a little bit smoother on the back end of the business, things that nobody really sees but me but will make such a difference!

Thank you Trevor for coming and sharing your passion, knowledge and talent with us! It meant a lot to have you come all the way up to MN and spend time away from your family to teach us Fargo/Minneapolis photographers!! Not many people come this direction for workshops so it means a LOT to us! <3
