Colin & Amanda’s wedding at the Plains Art Museum was so lovely! They decided on a very small intimate wedding, with just a maid of honor and best man for their wedding party. And it was perfect!
The first look, starting off back to back holding hands before turning around to say hi.
Pinky promise.
I just love the Plains Art Museum for photos, the backgrounds are so interesting and the light is lovely! I love the industrial ceilings and wood floors. So modern and clean.
Maid of honor time!
Then a few more portraits of the bride and groom in these corners.
Best man time! Lookin’ straight out of GQ.
And all together now!
I posted the images below (left) on my instagram and MOST of the comments were along the lines of, “I’ve never seen this angle of the art museum before!” or “Has that always been there? I guess I’ve never looked up!” … it’s always fun to realize I can still surprise even other photographer friends who use the same space all the time. 🙂 Pretty cool!!
One of my favorites:
Amanda & Colin know some of the guys who work at Drekker Brewery and were invited to come over and take some photos behind the scenes at the brewery, so we walked over for a few fun photos!
Favorite!!
I also really like a lot of the groom portraits we got near the kegs.
Back at the museum they did a mini ceremony rehearsal and I took ring photos!
Time to walk down the aisle!
Ring bearers are always fun to keep any eye on during the ceremony, lol! Gotta love nose picking. 😉
For the first kiss Amanda had asked if I could take the photo facing the audience so she could see the parent’s reaction. Normally I’d never do something like this at a church alter, but since it was at the museum, and since the officiant was Colin’s sister who was willing to move to the side so I could sneak in at the last second, we managed to make it work seamlessly!! What a perfect moment!
I always love the moment right after the kiss too, the joy and excitement and all the cheers make for great reactions! Thanks to my second photographer for grabbing this shot. And no, I didn’t Photoshop myself out of the photo, I was in- and- out really fast because I knew this would happen!!
I LOVE the grandparent’s reactions after the ceremony!
Then I was off to the Ramada to get a few detail photos before dinner and toasts.
First dances are always fun!
And then the real party starts!
Thank you Amanda & Colin for a fantastic day! I hope that you enjoyed these personal favorite teasers, feel free to share this blog post with your friends and family! I will be uploading your wedding photos to your personal gallery by the end of the week, but until then enjoy the teasers!!
