A few years ago, in August, I photographed Zack’s sister’s wedding. This year, in August again, I got to photograph Zack & Brittany! How fun to reconnect with the family and give anniversary wishes to Alyssa & Jake in person!

We started portrait time at the beautiful park:

 

I love the art deco detail of the beading in Brittany’s dress!

I just love the textures and colors of the grass this time of year!

Back at the church we did a bunch of family photos and then as the couple took a beak I worked on details. One of the special requests was a photo of the rings on the newspaper with the date. Cool huh!

One of the neat things about this church was Zack’s family had a hand in building it! How cool to get married at an alter your grandfather (or great grandfather?) helped to build!

During the ceremony a pesky fly kept buzzing around the couple. About half way through we heard a big “SLAP!” … the best man hit the fly as it landed on the groom’s shoulder. Everyone burst out laughing for a good minute!!

I love how the stained glass of Christ looks like he’s blessing the couple as they tie the strand of three cords. How symbolic is that?!

Then I headed to the Marriott Moorhead for the wedding reception details! Look at how epic all the uplighting looked!

Dance time!

We stepped out for some twilight images as the city lights came on behind the couple. I love taking a few quiet minutes out of the noisy dance time to savor the fact they are married!!

And back to the dance floor!!
