Bluestem Center Winter Wedding in Fargo | Jessica & Michael | Kris Kandel Photographer

Posted in: fargo, Uncategorized, weddings

I’ve had the great opportunity to photograph Jessica & Michael twice: once for a mini winter session to send out save the date photos, and then their longer engagement session this summer. So I was excited for their wedding to come around and get to work with them again. 🙂

The day started out at the Blonde Ambitions hair salon in Fargo, where the girls all got their hair & makeup done.

Then we headed over to the Trollwood Bluestem Center for the Arts in Moorhead! I absolutely love the Bluestem center in the summer, so I was excited to have a winter wedding at this venue and see how that changed the way people used the space!

Jessica wanted to do a first look with her dad first. I love the wink he gave her! You can tell how excited he was for her!

And then it was finally time for Michael to see his bride walk down the aisle for the first look.

Portrait time!

I love the way my 2nd photographer and I get such different looks at the same time! She took the photo on the left and I took the one on the right. This is why having 2 photographers at your wedding is so awesome!!

The Bluestem center is so great because you have this huge pine room with windows, and then around the corner a lovely hallway with stone and indoor greenery. It’s perfect for winter weddings and getting different looks in the same space. : )

Loving the orchids in the bouquet!!

Groomsmen looking dapper!

This group I tell ya, we were all laughing hysterically most of the photo time! The groom could hardly keep it together at some points. : )

Absolutely loved all the bridesmaids in sparkling beaded dresses.

“Lets do a serious face one…” Annnnd que everyone cracking up!

The groom had some super powers he wanted to show off. Super speed, strength, invisibility and just maybe x ray vision, lol!

It was SOOOO cold and windy but we managed to get about 5 minutes of portraits outside. Gotta love winter weddings in Fargo!

The groom’s ring was a unique custom made design. He had one of the diamonds from his dad’s wedding ring, and some meteor rock on either side. How special is that?!

Time for the ceremony!

The newest Mr & Mrs in town definitely calls for confetti cannons!

After the ceremony I headed over to the Radisson hotel downtown Fargo to get detail photos of the tables while the wedding party drove around in the trolley. Isn’t the room fantastic?!

The toasts had everyone in stitches and tears. Always a favorite moment of the day for me. The joy everyone in the room shares is so special to be a part of.

The photo on the right below gets me every time. The love and pride his mom has in her eyes, magical.

And the way Jessica’s dad held her. *melts*

The Radisson had the dance floor under the windows this time (usually they set up the head table here) and I thought it was brilliant! The lights and reflections were so fun to play with!

The dance floor was packed all evening, which is always so fun to photograph!!

Even grandpa got out on the dance floor and busted some moves. <3 Isn’t he the best thing ever?!

Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your special day!! I hope you enjoyed these personal favorites of mine. I’ll have your link with the rest of your photos ready to download next week, until then feel free to share this post with friends and family.
