Fargo| a city for wedding photography!

Posted in: Uncategorized

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking the last few days; what to focus my blog on. Obviously I’m a photographer, but how can I make my blog interesting and focused, yet incorporate my photographs?? After debating many things I’ve decided to focus on my city … Fargo!

Fargo really gets a bad rap for being backward, uncool, and cold. I’ll agree to the last description, but I think Fargo has a lot to offer! I’m going to write posts about Fargo: the beautiful locations around town to do photo shoots, the neat vendors that provide great service, the different churches I’ve photographed weddings at!  The alleys and buildings I’ve shot portraits in, and the restaurants and other locations used for receptions!!

There’s a lot of beauty here in our city!  I want to give YOU some ideas for your own wedding day!  To view Fargo as a wedding backdrop, from a photographer’s perspective.

To start things off the building above is the historic Fargo Theatre, right on our very own Broadway! Built in 1926 its Art Deco interior is one of the most creative buildings I’ve  ever been in. Not only is it a fun movie theatre, but the screen rolls up to show a gorgeous stage. I helped out behind the scenes at several plays here … Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” and “Twelfth Night,” as well as a fantastic performance of “Jane Eyre!” I know most of the passageways in this beautiful building, which makes me love taking photos of the outside so much more!

What do you think of my idea to focus my blog on Fargo? Is there anything you would like to see me do a post about? I’d love to hear!!

*On a side note – I think it’s kind of ironic that the two movies playing the day I shot this image are “In the Loop” and “The Goods” seeing as I’m going to be using both topics for my blog!*
