Fargo Hodo & Avalon West Wedding | Trisha & James | Kris Kandel Photographer

Posted in: fargo, weddings

Trisha & James’s wedding day started at the Hodo hotel in downtown Fargo. I LOVE working at the Hodo, it’s such a great urban and artistic vibe. The perfect backdrop for this elegant wedding!

The first look at the grand staircase, so romantic!

Then we stepped outside for some downtown Fargo portraits! You guys are too photogenic!! But then I knew that from your engagement session. ; )

Love this sequence below. My sister got some awesome angles from the side!!

If you look closely you can see my sister’s reflection in the window below. A sneaky way to get into the photo, lol!

This spot in the ally was gorgeous!! And just look at your smiles! LOVE!

Trisha, your vintage inspired look was perfection! So beautiful!

James, not to leave you out. Your bow tie was pretty rad too. I’ve always liked bow ties!

I love it when a wedding dress is obviously comfortable! It lets a bride move freely and gives a level of gracefulness to an already beautiful day!

The groomsmen were ready to go so we started out with the two best men (brothers), who gave the groom a bit of a hard time, lol!

Good lookin’ bunch!

The bridesmaids were a little behind schedule because of a makeup artist mix-up on locations, but we quickly made up the time. These ladies were fantastic to work!!

Photobombed by the ushers!!

Since the sun was pretty bright in the ally we headed over to Peace Lutheran church for the rest of our portraits.

Aren’t the blush colors gorgeous together! I’m loving the simple baby’s breath bouquets with the light pink and cream accents of the dress and necklaces.

The groom is really into soccer (which is THE best sport in my opinion as well) so I asked the groomsmen to do a few running photos. But when I said “GO” only the groom ran! The guy’s reaction was priceless!

A few more photos of the bride and groom here at the church. My sister did a great job hiding in the flower bushes to get these cool artsy shots. She got some strange looks but the results are stunning!

Ceremony time!

Peace Lutheran is unique in that it has 2 balconies so between my sister & I we were able to get some really fun angles!

James & Trisha had a friend who let the wedding party up onto a rooftop downtown Fargo for a little down time after the ceremony!  The city looks so cool from up here! Also notice the storm clouds rolling in. We ended up having tornado watches later, and a few thunderstorms, but by that time we were at the reception with the music on and no one heard a thing! But for these photos I was glad to have some clouds instead of squinting in the sun. ; )

One of my favorites!

Or maybe this one!

The reception was out at the new Avalon West Event Center! The ceiling is lined with LED lights that bathe the room in whatever the wedding color are. So we got pink of course!! It was pretty intense, I tried to tone it down a little bit in the photos so you could still make out what color things were besides pink, lol! But it was also pretty epic for a party!

Toasts are always a highlight!

Watching the slide show. I think some of the kids were over it by this point, lol!

First dances!

Let’s get this party started!!

Thank you James & Trisha for being incredible! You were great with the timeline being pushed back, not stressing out and just enjoying the day! It turned out amazing!! Thank you for inviting me to be part of it! I hope you enjoyed these personal favorites of mine, I’ll be getting you the link to download all the photos early next week! : )
