Fargo Wedding Photographer reaches 2011 goals!

Sorry – I just had to write the title like a major headline because… 

Today has been an amazing day for me, I got to cross off two of my 2011 goals in one day!!

#1. I wanted to upgrade my backup camera to a D700. However because of the tsunami in Japan there has been a big shortage. The USA has been sold out of them for months! I finally got on a waiting list since there is a slow trickle of cameras coming out of Japan again.  Today I got that wonderful phone call “We have a D700 are you still interested?” – um YES!!

Goal #1 successfully achieved.

#2. I wanted to save enough this season to be able to go to a conference next year: WPPI – Wedding and Portrait Photographer International. I’ve wanted to go for years but could never afford the flight + hotels + meals for a whole week. Then last night I found out that because I’m a showiteer (I use the program SHOWIT) I qualified for a major deal at the hotel. Almost 1/2 price! And so today I called and booked a room for 4 nights & 5 days to attend WPPI. One. Word. “EEEEEAAAK!!!!” – ok that’s more like a squeal. But hey. A girl can squeal when a dream comes true right?!

Goal #2. Crossed off.

My other 2011 goals were crossed out earlier. I wanted to book X number of weddings and I got within one wedding away from that number so I’m super happy with that.  And I got a laptop. So yeah. I think that I reached every single one of my major goals this year!  oh – and I GRADUATED  from college debt free!!!  <—- That one was pretty big even if it doesn’t have anything to do with my business. ; )

Yup. I’m a pretty happy gal tonight.

Now off to look at flights to WPPI in February. I’ve got some time to find the best deal. ; )
