Linda + Chris | Fargo Engagement Session | Kris Kandel Photographer

I met Linda and Chris at Nico and Elizabeth’s wedding last fall. Chris was one of the groomsmen, and I remember chatting with Linda at the reception.  A few weeks later I was surprised and excited when the contacted me about being their wedding photographer!! What a great compliment, that they enjoyed working with me and liked the photos I took of their friends. Wow. Such an honor!  Plus I had enjoyed working with THEM that day too, so the opportunity to get to know them better was so excited!!

We started out the engagement session at their home right next to a golf course. The pond out back and willow trees were so lovely! I also thought it was super cool that Chris wore a traditional African shirt for the first part of the session. So fun to have a touch of different cultures!!  As many of you know I was born in Africa and lived all over the world when I was young, so I really enjoy other cultures. : )

Love this image! The way Linda’s hair is flowing, the passion Chris feels for her, the reflections in the pond. Sigh. Sooo gorgeous!

After an outfit change we headed downtown Fargo for some fun urban photos. Doesn’t Linda look great in that Purple color!!

Laughter is my favorite thing about working with couples! It bubbles out of them constantly. Love that!

Towards the end of our session we were walking in an alley and this guy showed up wanting to pose in the images. You never know what will happen when you walk around downtown!!

I don’t know if you can quite see it, but it started to rain the last 5 minutes!! We noticed the lights going on downtown so we wanted to get a couple images with the lights, but we had to be quick!! The rain started, and we heard a train coming in the distance, so we didn’t want to get trapped on the wrong side of the tracks as it started to come down harder! So we snapped a quick handful of shots and RAN back to the car before the train crossing closed!!  Laughing at the hilarity and great timing to finish up just as the rain started.  It was the perfect end to a fun session!
