Jordan + Kelsey | Fargo Wedding | Kris Kandel Photographer

Posted in: weddings

The week of Kelsey & Jordan’s wedding the weather was threatening 80-90 % thunderstorms for August 3rd – but thankfully the storms waited until we were at the reception venue, so the day itself turned out lovely for photos in the park!

We started out at Bethel Church where Kelsey and Jordan got dressed. See all the buttons  on her dress … each button had a loop that slipped over it, but those loops were NOT elastic, so poor Kelsey had to wait a long time while her bridesmaids pulled and jerked her around while buttoning her up!

It was such a sweet moment when Kelsey’s mom helped her with the veil!

I just love Kelsey’s long eyelashes. So gorgeous!!

The one specific request that I had from Kelsey and Jordan was they wanted to have their wedding photos taken at the Island Park Gazebo because that’s where he first asked her to be his girlfriend! I love it when couples include special places and memories into their wedding day. It was a bit of a logistical challenge to do the first look there, but we figured it out and the excited reaction of the groom was so great!

Portrait time!

After the Gazebo we walked around Island park a little bit.  I just love architecture so working with the large theater like seating by the tennis courts was pretty fun!

Gotta love suspenders on the groomsmen!!

Around the corner we found some great greenery for more bridal portraits. The light was perfect & Kelsey is gorgeous, what more could you want?!

Back to the church the groomsmen wanted a little bit of time to goof off in front of the camera. Yeah, it was a pretty awesome group!

Some of my favorite photos to take are the detail shots. Especially with my new lens this year, it’s just so fun!!

 Mr & Mrs at last!!!

My assistant and I headed over the the Ramada to take detail photos. By this time the thunder storms were rolling in and I was glad to be inside. About half way through the detail shots the weather alert system gave out a tornado watch, so the hotel staff were running around with their walkie talkies making sure the shelter rooms were unlocked just in case. Thankfully after a bit of rain and wind it passed over so no big deal, but still, VERY thankful that this wasn’t an outdoor wedding reception!

Don’t you just want to laugh with the couple when looking at these photos of the toasts?!! I know I did.

Simply lovely first dance.  The colors in the room were fabulous, and of course the couple in the center just make it even better!

Let’s get this party started!!

I ended up staying about an hour longer than I was supposed to, just watching and photographing these guys enjoying themselves. Thanks to Kelsey and Jordan for your big smiles and letting me into your special day. God bless!!
