Valley City & Fargo Ramada Wedding | Marah & Derek | Kris Kandel Photographer

Marah & Derek’s Valley City wedding was special to me for a few reasons. My grandparents used to live in Valley City so the little town has a lot of special memories for me. The old video store where we picked out Disney movies, the doughnut shop, even the grocery store where Oma used to let me push the cart (a big deal when you are 5 years old!). 🙂 So driving through town on the way to the church was full of fun memories. The church itself was the one my grandparents attended, so it was also full of memories – the room where I went to vacation Bible school etc. But for some weird reason the church seemed a lot smaller than I remember, lol!! It was also the church my parent’s had their wedding reception in (they got married overseas), so it was just really cool to think that here I was photographing another wedding in the same building!! How cool is that?

Anyway enough about Me, this was Marah & Derek’s big day!!! I really loved their engagement session, and hearing all the fun details they had planned. Including 2 wedding dresses, and their little twins being the flower girls!

We drove over to City park for portrait time!

My 2nd photographer got the photo below. I like the way the faces are slightly hidden behind the leaves that she was shooting through. Very arty and cool!

Then back to the church for family photos and some fun details before the ceremony started!

The twins got pulled down the aisle in a little pink wagon. 😀

Congratulations Mr & Mrs!!!

After the ceremony we all drove back to Fargo to the Ramada Plaza for the wedding reception and dance!

Such a lovely cake!

Marah changed into her reception dress that wasn’t quite so heavy as her first full skirted wedding dress, so we headed outside for a quick 5 minutes to get a couple relaxed portraits with the new look!
