Fargo Wedding Photography | Jenna + Greg | Bluestem Center for the Arts

Posted in: weddings

June 9, 2012 – Jenna and Greg’s wedding day!! It was a hot one – about 97 degrees and WINDY – but we had a great day anyway!

The reception was at Trollwood Bluestem Center for the Arts, so we got permission from them to do our getting ready/couple/ bridal party photos there earlier in the day.

First look photos are always so much fun!

Darma had to get in on the action for a few minutes, but the heat was a little much for her fur coat + a dress, so she didn’t stick around very long.

Bridal party fun at the Bluestem Center!

I just love the blue skies and beautiful colors in the next few shots.

I love the big open skies of North Dakota / Minnesota. The prairie girl in me is showing.

My sister took the next shot. It was her first wedding to shadow me! I’ve been training her up for years so I was pretty excited to have her along.  I loved all the negative space in the photo she took. Very “Bobbi + Mike” (one of my favorite photographer teams in the USA right now).

Before we headed to the church for the ceremony I took a few minutes to get some detail shots of the tables and details in the reception hall at the Bluestem Center.  Their cake topper was especially meaningful,  it’s custom made with their gaming avatars! What a great idea for personalizing their wedding!

The band Tripwire  began setting up their equipment, and hamming it up for the camera! You’ll see more of these guys on the blog in July since one of this year’s grooms (Mark)  is the drummer, and these showoffs are going to be in the wedding party. ; )

Back at the church getting ready before the ceremony. Last touches included the veil and a few quick pictures in the waiting room.

Like I mentioned in Jake and Leah’s wedding post it’s always special when the tears come out at a wedding. Nothing to be embarrassed about, in fact I think it goes to show how special the day is. That it’s worth something! Watching Jenna walk down the aisle wiping her eyes made me realize how beautiful the day really was. As someone who attends many many many weddings it’s a good reminder for me!

And then right back to the Trollwood Bluestem Center for the Arts for the reception and dance!

Catching grandparents smiling and parents laughing is one of the joy’s of a reception. These are the photos that mean something special, because they are so real!

The sunset light flooded the room just as Jenna and Greg shared their first dance. Beautiful golden light!

And then the real party got started – thanks to Tripwire and their rockin’ music!

As we were heading out after our time ended we grabbed a few more shots through the windows of the band and dancers inside and all the reflections outside as well. It made for some cool photos!

What a beautiful day! I sure enjoyed laughing with you both, and thank you for letting my sister come along,  she really enjoyed it, and even said she wants to follow me to a few more weddings this year! I think I’ll be getting a new assistant officially added to the team by the end of the season!  ; )
