7.7.12 – Mark & Kristen’s big day out at Rustic Oaks!!
My assistants and I arrived to find Kristen in the upstairs suite getting her hair done, so we took the time to get some cute shots of her dress. I loved the vintage mid century desk with a round mirror in one of the bedrooms! I always try to grab a photo of the perfume bottle too, scent is such a great way to remember your wedding day! I’ve heard some brides wear a new scent so it will forever be associated in their minds with their wedding. What a great idea!
Kristen loves the Wizard of Oz, so she incorporated a super cute blue and white plaid garter with Dorothy’s red shoes as a charm. AND she got sparkly red heals with custom lettering on bottom as another nod to Oz. AND she painted a tiny rainbow onto her big toe. LOVE details like that!! (More shoe photos later in the post!!)
First look photos are always so fun! The nervousness, the excitement, the joy!!
Love the next shot that my sister got, so sweet!
Mark is quite the character, we were cracking up all day at his faces!
This was the first wedding that I have photographed out at Rustic Oaks, so I was pretty excited about it! The landscape is great! Fields, a pond, a windmill, the barn … yes, lots of options for photos!
I loved all the great details that Kristen included, like the Just Married sign! I’ll post all the etsy shops at the end of this blog so you can check them out for your own wedding ideas!
Since Kristen is a fair bit shorter than Mark I wanted to try to think of ways to change it up, so having Mark hold her (in the fields above) or have Kristen stand on the bench (below) were fun ways to play with their height differences!
Ahhh the sparkly red shoes, sooooo adorable!! Mark and Kristen also wanted an image of them each holding one of their parent’s wedding photos, as a special nod to their family tree. Again with the cute details!!
Wedding party time!! It was so hot out, but they were great. I tried to work fast because I knew the guys were especially hot in their suits, so we whipped through wedding party photos in about 20 minutes, walking around the property and then letting everyone get back into the house & AC!!
Mark is in a band with three other guys, so “Tripwire” was the best man, or best men in this case. You can tell they aren’t shy in front of the camera!!
Don’t you just adore the pockets in the bridesmaid dresses!! POCKETS!!! So handy, and cute, and perfect for stashing a klenex during the ceremony. Smart move ladies.
After people had cooled down again we grabbed a few more fun pics out on the front porch swing. So lovely!
If you remember Mark and Kristen’s Engagement session you’ll remember their converse sneakers. Well just for the fun of it we took a few wedding photos including their beloved converse, and a pinkie swear showing off their rings! I love detail shots!!
Ahh the red sparkly shoes, sooooo awesome. Dorothy would totally approve.
Ceremony time!
Inside the barn all the goodies were set out. Cupcakes in several flavors, a candy bar, and a cake that was starting to melt and lean a bit more than it should, lol!
For a surprise Kristen had a special grooms cake made with the Tripwire logo!! The band as pretty stoked about it!
As the sun started getting lower the guests started donating their dollars for kisses – lets just say there was a LOT of kissing going on at the reception, lol! Isn’t the setting gorgeous!!
Love it! You did such a great job capturing the day, and what a beautiful venue! 🙂
